Rock’D is proud to sponsor Noturnall.
Noturnall is the name of this new band, which has less than 3 years of history and is already considered one of the biggest names of the Brazilian heavy metal scene. Formed in mid-2013 by ‘legends’ of the Brazilian music scene, it originally had former members of Shaman, an already worldwide famous Brazilian heavy metal band: Thiago Bianchi (vocal), Fernando Quesada (bass), Leo Mancini (guitar) and Junior Carelli (keys); plus the very talented Brazilian drummer Aquiles Priester, 14 years in a row, considered the best drummer of Brazil, by the most important Brazilian magazine of the Rock/Hard/Metal world, Roadie Crew, besides being also knowned worldwide for his contribution to artists from the caliber of Tony MacAlpine, Primal Fear, among others.
As expected, the band was already born being considered the new sensation of the Brazilian rock/metal scene, not only because it is formed by a ‘dream team’, but specially because it brings an innovative musical proposal: modern, aggressive, heavy, and yet melodic and progressive -as there never was! And it persists until today!
“Joining a lot of heaviness and technique, Noturnall was meant to be the first heavy metal super-group of Brazil.” Those were the words of Tony Monteiro when describing the quintet style. Tony is one of the most respected journalists of Rock/Hard/Heavy/Metal from Brazil.
Since the very beginning, the band’s name had been a constant on the ‘best of the year’ awards of specialized media. And it could not be any different. Formed on the first month of 2014, already in February the debut album was released, and it reached the record of best-selling album in many sites and music stores. In March, the band sold-out Carioca Club in Sao Paulo on its first live show, that was recorded for the band’s live DVD, ‘First Night Live’. It had the special participation of Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob), and all the proceeds of the tickets were reversed to donations and sent to ‘Casas Hope’, an institution that takes care of children with cancer. In November of that same year, the band toured 14 states of Brazil on board of its own personalized tour bus, and in December it was time to tour Europe, the band’s first international tour, with more than 10 dates in Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
In between all of this activities, the band also found time for a prolific life of video clips. In less than 2 years, the band recorded and released more than 7 official music videos.
On Roadie Crew Magazine – Brazil’s most important specialized publication – reader’s poll of 2014, Noturnall won in three categories: Best Drummer for Aquiles Priester, Best Guitar Player for Leo Mancini, and best Keyboard Player for Junior Carelli. Noturnall also appeared in second place on four other categories: Best Vocalist for Thiago Bianchi, Best Bass Player for Fernando Quesada, Best Album and Best DVD.
The band’s second studio album was released in May 2015. ‘Back To F*** You Up!’ is a result of hard work and dedication. With only two years the band already had 2 albuns and 1 live DVD, and they were all well-accepted by the critics and fans. As expected, the album broke new selling records and helped gathered more and more people to the live performances.
Highly motivated by all these excellent results, and coming back home from a very successful ‘New Wave Of American Heavy Metal’ Tour, which also featured the bands Republica and Adrenaline Mob, Noturnall started the engines and got ready to play in Rock In Rio! Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Noturnall played on the Metal Day, together with bands like Korn, Motley Crue and Metallica. And once again, to show the irreverent and innovative side of the band, the guest list for the event was anything but conventional. .. the band counted not only with the legendary voice of power metal, Michael Kiske, but also with the great guitar player and new promise on the ranking of the most renowned guitarists in the world, Mike Orlando from Adrenaline Mob. And finally, the surprise of the night, singer Maria Odette joined them on stage. Maria Odette is a famous MPB singer, who launched Caetano Veloso. She also happens to be Thiago Bianchi’s mother.
